Key infrastructure charge consultation underway

Public consultation is underway on the new Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) which enables local authorities, including Bath & North East Somerset Council, to raise funds from development in their area to provide key infrastructure needed as a result of development.

Once adopted, the CIL will operate alongside scaled backed Section 106 contributions. The Council will be listening to people's views about the draft Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule.

There will be a further consultation in Autumn 2012 following further refinement of the Draft Charging Schedule before the document is submitted to the Secretary of State in December 2012.
